A Manager's Guide to Dealing With Toxic Employees
We’ve all been there: you have a talented but difficult team member wreaking havoc on your team.
It’s up to you as manager to jump in and manage the situation, but it’s so full of emotional minefields that all you want to do is bury your head in the sand and play ostrich until it goes away.
Talk Outline:
Don’t worry – we’re here to get you out of ostrich mode and into action with all the information and tools you need to recognize and address poisonous behaviours on your team. We’ll cover:
- The 6 types of toxic employees
- The cost of allowing toxic behaviour on the team to continue
- Procedure, policy, and process to address negative behaviours
- Communication strategies to help you deal with challenging employees
The goal of this talk is to give you actionable strategies to address unproductive and harmful behaviours on your team.

As part of this event we have the option of donation to the Pacific Association of First Nations Women for their scholarship fund for Indigenous women and girls. This is a concrete way - beyond land acknowledgement - to redistribute some of our collective financial privilege to support Indigenous women.
