You can get all the nerves out – plus all the ums, errs, uhhs, and mis-worded attempts – in front of your WIMDI coach, so you’re polished and prepped for the people who matter.

Did data entry for daily production data on a mine at your first job? Try this on for size. “I really appreciate how important it is to be accurate in your work. At one of my first jobs, I was in charge of our daily production reports. Now, at first blush, that sounds boring – it’s data entry, right? But it’s actually much more than that. Because those production reports that I did went to shareholders. And so to get them wrong meant that we were misstating our results and risking fraud. So early on I gained a real appreciation for the importance of accuracy, and of setting up systems of checks and balances so you can ensure accuracy on a consistent basis. I now bring that same approach and rigour with data to my work as a geostatistician. At the end of the day, my work – and the trust the shareholders place in us – is only as good as the accuracy of our data.”

But if you’re looking for specific coaching from an insider who knows every specific question you’re likely to face (and exactly how to answer so you get the thumbs up), we’d recommend looking for someone who focuses specifically on interview techniques for FAANGs (or maybe it’s MAMAAs now? Depends who you ask!).
